Body Buster Fitness November 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

I joined Body Buster Fitness in February of 2013. When I joined I was at the heaviest weight I had ever been and was so unhappy with my appearance and fitness level. When I joined Body Buster, I had no idea what to expect except what I had seen on TV. I was so happy to meet Dani! She welcomed me to the group and quickly got to know my goals and what obstacles I might face. I have asthma and low back pain and they have not hindered my progress with bootcamp one bit. No matter which instructor is teaching the class, they are always able to help me modify the exercises so that I can complete them comfortably and effectively. There is never-ending encouragement and support from the BBF team. It is so wonderful that Dani checks in from time to time to see how I’m feeling and evaluate if my goals have changed. In addition to fitness support, the instructors also have a wealth of knowledge on nutrition. I always knew that nutrition and exercise lead to a healthier body but was never able to really commit to both of them. Since starting with Body Buster, I have lost 14 pounds and 22 inches! It has been a total body transformation.
 
I continue with the Body Buster program because I feel stronger (I can’t stop flexing in the mirror) and am so much happier. My energy is through the roof and I am learning how to love exercise. I have even joined Team Body Buster for the last two years at the CIBC Run for the Cure. When I started bootcamp, I could barely run 1km, now I can run 5km with ease. Body Buster has become a big part of my life. I attend classes twice a week and really enjoy the variety of exercises we do. No class is ever the same. It is also a really great group of people. My fellow die hard members are a great support system. You can really feel the camaraderie as we push through the last 10 (insert exercise here). Whether its pushups on the ball or burpees, we push each other and, speaking for myself, enjoy every minute of it.
With the fast pace of life, it is often hard to commit yourself to a program like this. To those people I would say there is always time to do something for you. It is as little as two hours a week to focus on yourself and I promise, you will feel so good for doing it. Even sweaty, sore and exhausted, it a great feeling finishing each class. Body Buster has allowed me to re-focus myself and concentrate on my weight loss and fitness goals. I plan to be a Body Buster for many years to come! Thank you BBF team!

Back to School, Back to Bootcamp - Enjoy Exercise in South Etobicoke!

Body Buster Fitness September/October 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

I think sometimes, as adults & especially parents, we get caught up in our work/children and forget about ourselves. Doing Body Buster is actually fun and the end result is better health and wellness.
I've been a Body Buster Fitness member since January 2012.
 Initially, the appeal of Body Buster was the sheer variety of programming and exercises, the proximity to my home and the idea that by doing an early morning program, I could get exercising "out of the way" before the day even really began! As I continued on in the program, I began to appreciate the dedication and friendliness of the instructors as well as the great camaraderie among the participants. The variety continues to this day and I doubt we've ever repeated the same class.
I don't know how much weight or how many inches I've lost as that wasn't really the point of my joining. I wanted to be more fit, all over and I know I am! I actually have upper body strength where I had none before, and I find that I catch colds/flus much less frequently that I used to. Coincidence?!
I continue with Body Buster Fitness because I enjoy the classes (most of the time!); I really like my instructors, Huy and Dan and find them encouraging and positive; the other participants are great; and, finally, I "miss" it when I can't make a classes.
Although getting up for a 6 am class can be tough, overall I've found that in addition to feeling fitter, I'm very rarely sick. Even when I do catch a cold or flu, it doesn't generally last long or become intense.
I've regained some of my former fitness since joining Body Buster Fitness. This has ultimately led to better experiences outside of class: especially when it comes to endurance on active family vacations.
Body Buster is great for anybody. The opportunity is there to work at your own pace, with a gentle nudge once you are ready to increase in intensity and an overall feeling of fun during the classes.
My advice to anyone who claims there is no time to exercise is that there's always time. You owe it to yourself to make the time but you also owe to anyone who cares about you to be as healthy as you can be.

I think sometimes, as adults and especially parents, we get caught up in our work/children and forget about ourselves. Doing something like Body Buster Fitness is actually fun (in a strange way!) and the end result is better health and wellness. I have three kids, (11, 15 and 17) and I think it's good for them to see a parent who continues to be active and involved. They need to see that all the sports they do now do not have to stop once they are out of school and that physical activity should be as much a part of their lifestyle as eating and sleeping!

Body Buster Fitness Bootcamp - August 2014 Bootcamper of the Program

This August program marks my 2nd year with Body Buster Fitness.

I like the variety of the classes - no two are the same and there is always something new. I also really appreciate the attention of the trainers - getting that extra push and encouragement during the workout makes all the difference!

I have chosen to continue with the program because I truly enjoy it!  I look forward to the classes each week and working out with those in the class.

I think I am in the best shape I’ve ever been. Despite being a member for 2 years, I still feel challenged each class (thanks Dani!) and continue to see results. The program has motivated me to make other changes in my life as well; I walk everywhere, make healthier food choices, and have never slept so well!

I've played soccer most of my life and it's the way I used to keep fit.  When I stopped playing I struggled to find something new that would interest me long term.  One of my friends suggested the Body Buster program so I signed up for a month to give it a try and haven't looked back.  I am stronger, fitter and more confident than I’ve ever been!

It’s often difficult to fit in time for exercise - I find the Body Buster class times and locations make it very easy for me to attend.  After a long day sometimes the last thing you think you want to do is workout - no matter what my energy level is before class I always feel a sense of accomplishment after knowing I had a great work out, burned a ton of calories, and worked out the stress of the day!

Body Buster Fitness - May 2014 Bootcamper of the Program

We at Body Buster would like to send a big congratulations to Noel. Noel has seen very significant increases in both his muscular and cardiovascular endurance since beginning with the Body Buster program in January. He gives his all each and every classs and pushes past mental blocks and barriers when given tough exercises to complete. He definitely practices the "mind over matter" technique in the classes and has truly come a long way in all aspects of his health over the course of his Body Buster experience.

Noel is also a great classmate to have in the program. He is a positive and encouraging model for all the members in his class and has proven that with hard work and dedication to the program and his health, anything is possible. In fact, for the first time in Body Buster history - we had members writing in to nominate a fellow member for Bootcamper of the program! Not only do we at Body Buster think he is deserving of this honour, so do many of the members in his class.

Noel has made Body Buster a new part of his lifestyle and we are very proud of him and all he has accomplished in the program. Congrats Noel!

I have been a body buster since January 2014. What I like most about body buster is how motivated and focused I get during these workouts. I have lost about 4 pounds since Xmas. I am continuing with body buster as I am seeing a vast improvement in fitness levels. But I don't want to stop at that. I know I can reach a higher fitness level if I stay at it. In terms of overall health I personally think I am far more healthier than prior to joining body buster. Everything has changed. Eating loads of healthy food, drinking less alcohol, sleeping very well and I have lots of energy. 

What I have gained since joining body buster is learning how to lead a more healthy lifestyle, developing strength and how to maintain this. My advice to people who never took the program is to try it out.
You will get fit and knock of unwanted pounds if you listen and follow instructors advice and that bit of commitment from yourself and patience.  You have to make an effort to see results. Results will come if you put your mind to it and the trainers are extremely helpful to help you achieve your targets.

Body Buster Bootcamp April 2014 Bootcampers of the Program!

Kim:
I joined back in September 2012 for 3 months with another member and as of  April 2014, I just signed up for my 3rd year!
I love that I now have a fitness program in my weekly schedule.  Prior to joining Body Buster, the most activity I enjoyed were long hikes and bike rides. I look forward to each and every program and now have that I have this in my weekly structure, so when life is interrupted and I cannot make a program, I make certain I do my makeup class or I just do not feel the same. 
I have lost about 15 pounds and although I would like to lose more, I have lost inches from my legs, bootieJ and overall down a size.  
I love the feeling I am doing something good for my overall health. I am a mature women and it’s important to take care of myself. I feel great after each session and sleep so much better on the nights after my class.  The fact that each class is changed up. I can honestly say that not one class has been the same and never boring!
In terms of overall health, I feel younger, more youthful. I feel fit and I can see a difference, my family and friends also comment on seeing a difference. Exercising not only maintains your physical health but mental health as well. Also I can see amongst my personal friends that I have a better stamina and are able to do more physically prior to joining Body Buster.
I have gained respect from peers at work and in my personal life. I feel great that I am able to wear clothes that I feel great in! If I have had a stressful day at work, I can go to Body Buster and just release all that built up stress. I can forget about the day and feel like a new person heading home to the shower! I enjoy the feeling of good overall health that this program provides.  I am also gaining knowledge in nutrition, which is a subject I knew little about. 
Body Buster becomes an important part of your daily routine, it’s only an hour and the program is flexible that it allows you to fit into your schedule. It does not take a lot of time, it’s only one hour for a class and you get to meet other people such as yourself that are looking to improve or even maintain your overall health. It’s really a lot of fun and we have some great laughs along the way.
Before you say you just don’t have time, look at the older family members in your life. My mom in her late 60’s fell and broke her ankle. She was unable to leave the hospital because she did not have the upper body strength to hold herself up on crutches. I look now and feel if I had an accident, I would at the very least be strong enough to keep my mobility.  
I have a great time and look forward to every class. I love getting together with the friends I have made along the way and of course LOVE Kara and the other instructors. They make each class! I look forward to many more years with Body Buster.

I`ve been a member of Body Buster Fitness, with my friend Kim, since September 2011 - hard to believe, time flies when you`re having fun!!  
What I love most about the Body Buster Program is the combination of motivating instructors with group dynamics – it’s like having a private instructor who knows how to help you get the most out of your workout combined with the support and comradery of a group.
I`ve lost 10 -15 pounds (depending on how close to the holidays or vacations my weigh ins are), I`m not really sure how many inches but I do know my pre-boot camp clothes are all too big.
The main reason I have stayed with Body Buster, and will continue to stay, is because it works for me.  This is the first fitness program I have ever stuck with - I`ve had many starts and stops at the gym over the years.  It`s the combination of the highly motivating instructors, the unique classes and the supportive classmates. I get more out of a one hour Body Buster class than I would in several one hour visits to the gym on my own, no two classes are ever the same, and the encouragement from fellow Bootcampers is fantastic!!
My overall health has improved tremendously since joining Body Buster– I not only weigh less, I have way more energy and strength, I sleep better and I definitely eat healthier.  I stop and think about what I`m eating relative to how hard I work in class to burn those calories off.
Not only is it good for the body, it`s good for the soul.  I have gained such a sense of accomplishment from regularly attending and participating.  No matter what my state of mind or enthusiasm level when I arrive at class, I always leave feeling positive.
The Body Buster Program is worth it in every way.  The time spent in class comes back tenfold with the increases in energy and strength you get from regular participation.  The results you get are equivalent to personal training without the high cost and with all the benefits of a being part of an encouraging group.
It’s important to make time for yourself and to feel good about yourself!!  A couple of hours a week is all it takes to get really noticeable results – it`s never too late to start.

Body Buster Bootcamp March 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

Making a commitment to form a regular exercise routine is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for apx 1 year.
What I love about the Body Buster Fitness Program is I don't have to think.  I just need to show up and my instructor tells me what to do.  
I have lost Apx 5 pounds, not sure in inches but have lost 1 dress size
I have made Body Buster part of my regular routine.  The group atmosphere and my instructor Lily is very motivational. It is great to be among people with the same focus and fitness goals.
The Body Buster Program has made me feel fitter, stronger and generally more healthy.  I have more energy throughout the day.
Although it is a struggle to get up at 5:30am to go to bootcamp it sets the stage for the rest of the day.  I find I am more focused and effective at work after a good class.  By making exercise part of my regular routine I have more energy throughout the day.  With a 3 and 6 year old at home every ounce of energy is important.
The great thing about the Body Buster program is that there is always someone there to challenge you.  The instructors are there to ensure you are engaged and challenged for the full hour.  This is very hard to do on your own at the gym.
We all lead hectic work and family lives.  Making a commitment to form a regular exercise routine is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.  Focusing on personal health and fitness affects so many areas of your life. Not only does it improve your overall health it improves your entire mental state which affects everyone around you.

Body Buster Fitness February 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

I have been a Body Buster member for five years. 
I most enjoy the camaraderie.  I feel energized, challenged and motivated when working out with others.  The instructors are fantastic and each one puts his/her own spin on the workouts.
I never weigh myself or have had myself measured.  My commitment has always been about just keeping my mind and body healthy.
I feel that the activities you engage in and the daily choices you make affect the way you feel both physically and emotionally.  I choose to continue with Body Buster because it works for me and because of the health benefits associated with a healthy and active lifestyle.  It also helps that the classes are dynamic and fun.
I feel great and consistently energetic.  I have seen an improvement in my core strength and endurance primarily.  I’ve also gained motivation that lasts :)
I have gained a love of feeling physically fit.  The classes give you a great sense of accomplishment and pride.  I have also gained a better understanding of how specific exercises/workouts target particular muscle groups and areas of the body.
I would tell others that Body Buster takes overall health and exercise very seriously.  The workouts are well thought out and address all areas of the body.  The stretching component at the end of each class complements the workouts and effectively helps your body recover.  The instructors challenge you at every level and also encourage good health and nutrition.
Try working exercise into your daily routine.  Small bouts of activity make ‘movements’ a more normal part of your life. 

There are many choices and options available today for people who are ready to be active.  Just try to have a little fun while doing it

February 2014 Body Buster Fitness Bootcampers of the Program

Linda and Mary are what we like to call "Diehard Body Buster Members".
Both ladies have seen major successes in the Body Buster program including huge increases in both their cardiovascular and muscular endurance. What is so great about both Mary and Linda is that they are in this together - and motivate/encourage each other during the process. Their positive attitudes and willingness to have fun while really pushing themselves in the classes is why they are perfect candidates for " Body Buster Bootcampers of the program". 

Rarely do we nominate two people together  - however this awesome pair of ladies were equally deserving. They have come a long way with their fitness since beginning with Body Buster and continue to push past barriers and do better and better every class.
Congrats Mary and Linda on all of your fitness accomplishments in the Body Buster Program. Here is what they have to say:

Linda:
I have been a Body Buster Member for at least 3 years.
What I like most about the Body Buster program is classes are always different.  There is never a repeat of exercises. The instructors are so nice and very helpful with any questions I may have.
I have lost in one year 22 lbs. 
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because I like the instructors and I like the challenge.
I have a lot more energy.  I feel better about myself because I am exercising. I never thought I could do the exercises that I am doing.  I feel better about myself because my body has changed for the better.
Try it, you'll like it.  Body Buster is great because the instructors will modify any exercise to fit your fitness level.
As you get older, if you want to stay healthy, you'd better make time for exercise.
I've really enjoyed my time going to Body Buster Fitness.  The people are great.  The instructors always try and make the sessions fun.  I always feel good after a workout.

We first started with Body Buster Fitness in April 2009. We started with Body Buster Fitness, we had a short sabbatical and returned in 2011.  I use “we” because Linda and I join together, we support each other and have a great time at Body Buster Fitness.
What I like most about Body Buster Fitness program is the ability to work at my own fitness level without feeling the need to compete with the other members (aka Linda).  I enjoy the different routines/exercises from cardio to circuit training, not knowing what to expect week to week.
I did not join Body Buster Fitness to lose weight or inches, I joined to increase my overall well being.
I have continued with Body Buster Fitness because I like how I feel, energized, mentally alert, the program works my entire body.  The trainers/instructors are passionate, engaged, friendly/fun, pushing each member at their own fitness level: teaching us mind over matter, learning how to breathe, changing the way we think about exercise.
In terms of my overall health, I feel as I have achieved and maintained a well balanced lifestyle, by reducing my stress and tension and increasing my strength and endurance level. I really feel good, and as much as I dislike the word exercise, I love going to my Tuesday and Thursday class.
Being a member of Body Buster Fitness has motivated and challenged me to be my personal best. I’ve learned many different fitness tips/stretching/extending my body/limbs, learn proper techniques for various drills and circuits. The thought of exercising makes me cringe, after every class I’m exhausted, but I love how I feel in the morning.  Body Buster Fitness is part of my weekly routine, like picking up/dropping off the kids, grocery shopping, meeting, etc.
I’m always telling my family, friends, co-works…and myself, stop using time as an excuse for not changing/making time for yourself in turn making good healthy choices.
At Body Buster Fitness I feel like I have a personal trainer in a group environment, I’m motivated, challenged and never bored.
