Congratulations, Karolyn! You're the Body Buster Fitness July 2015 Bootcamper of the Program!

Karolyn

"Knowing that my commitment and hard work with the program helped me achieve my weight loss goals and many other health benefits is amazing"

I joined Body Buster Fitness in February of 2013. When I joined I was at the heaviest weight I had ever been and was so unhappy with my appearance and fitness level. When I joined Body Buster, I had no idea what to expect except what I had seen on TV. I was so happy to meet Dani! She welcomed me to the group and quickly got to know my goals and what obstacles I might face.

I have asthma and low back pain and they have not hindered my progress with bootcamp one bit. No matter which instructor is teaching the class, they are always able to help me modify the exercises so that I can complete them comfortably and effectively.

There is never-ending encouragement and support from the BBF team. It is so wonderful that Dani checks in from time to time to see how I’m feeling and evaluate if my goals have changed. In addition to fitness support, the instructors also have a wealth of knowledge on nutrition. I always knew that nutrition and exercise lead to a healthier body but was never able to really commit to both of them. Since starting with Body Buster, I have lost 14 pounds and 22 inches! It has been a total body transformation.

I continue with the Body Buster program because I feel stronger (I can’t stop flexing in the mirror) and am so much happier. My energy is through the roof and I am learning how to love exercise. I have even joined Team Body Buster for the last two years at the CIBC Run for the Cure. When I started bootcamp, I could barely run 1km, now I can run 5km with ease. Body Buster has become a big part of my life.

I attend classes twice a week and really enjoy the variety of exercises we do. No class is ever the same. It is also a really great group of people. My fellow die hard members are a great support system. You can really feel the camaraderie as we push through the last 10 (insert exercise here). Whether its pushups on the ball or burpees, we push each other and, speaking for myself, enjoy every minute of it.
With the fast pace of life, it is often hard to commit yourself to a program like this. To those people I would say there is always time to do something for you. It is as little as two hours a week to focus on yourself and I promise, you will feel so good for doing it. Even sweaty, sore and exhausted, it a great feeling finishing each class. Body Buster has allowed me to re-focus myself and concentrate on my weight loss and fitness goals. I plan to be a Body Buster for many years to come! Thank you BBF team!

Congratulations, Maureen! You're the Body Buster Fitness Bootcamper of the May 2015 Program!

Maureen

"I came to realize that a healthy fitness plan necessitated a change to my diet. That combined with my Body Buster Fitness classes, has helped me maintain my weight loss and also gain a healthier self-image."

Thank you to Body Buster Fitness for choosing me as Bootcamper of the program. I feel like I have very tough competition for this spot.

I’ve been a Body Buster Fitness member for over 4 years. When I joined my weight was at an all time high and my self image was low. Group fitness classes work for me and knowing that my Body Buster family, which includes the instructors and my fellow bootcampers, are paying attention to me and my goals, as well as when I am absent from classes, helps motivate me to go to class even when I don’t feel like going. I know that I can’t do this on my own – I need Body Buster to help keep me active and motivated. Every class is different and every class is a challenge – even after four years.

I’ve had a very positive experience with Body Buster fitness. From my first class I was made to feel welcome and part of the team. The instructors keep an eye on all of us to make sure we are not feeling overwhelmed and offer solutions and modifications if we are struggling or if we are finding it too easy. The first few classes were really tough as I hadn’t been active for a few years and getting back into it was difficult. I began to see results right away and it made me want to come back. Overall, I’ve lost over 20 pounds (I’ve lost the last 5 pounds several times!) and dropped two jeans sizes (hello skinny jeans!)

More important than the external changes, I feel healthier and have more energy. Also, I came to realize that a healthy fitness plan necessitated a change to my diet. That combined with my Body Buster Fitness classes, has helped me maintain my weight loss and also gain a healthier self-image. Good health is an incredible gift and I’m doing everything I can to make sure that my family and I continue to enjoy good health. My family sees how important these classes are to me – it is part of our routine and I have their support to continue my fitness plan and keep working toward my goals. We are all active and more fit than before and I credit much of that to Body Buster Fitness.

Thank you to Jamie who has always been helpful and accommodating of my requests. Also a huge thank you to all of my instructors, most notably Kara, Dani and Huy. They know when to push me and when to leave me alone and I appreciate all of it, even if sometimes it doesn’t look like I do.

Thank you as well to my Body Buster Fitness colleagues who make every class fun. And the fact that we watch out for each other, cheer each other on, laugh together and commiserate helps very much. Melanie is my hero and I hope I can attend classes and run as fast as she can for many years to come.

I highly recommend Body Buster Fitness to anyone of any fitness level. The classes are hard work but worth it. You’ll see changes in both your mind and body and you’ll have fun and make new friends. Make time for you and make time for fitness – you won’t regret it and you might love it! It is always so easy to find an excuse not to exercise. Make it part of your routine and your Body Buster instructors will help you with new challenges to allow you to meet your goals and then set new goals.

I can do so much more than when I started. The first class, I couldn’t do a sit-up and ball pass seemed impossible. I’ll never enjoy burpees and I really wish Huy wouldn’t lie when he’s counting us down, but I do enjoy classes and I never thought I would admit to that.

Thank you again, it is an honour to be recognized. Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support – I literally could not do it without you.

Bootcamper of the YEAR 2014! Congratulations Ed!

Congratulations Ed - Body Buster Fitness Bootcamper of the YEAR 2014!

Ed has been a Body Buster member since March 2013. In his years with Body Buster, he has been characterized by his instructors as self-motivated, dedicated and focused.

Ed's self-sufficient, self motivated nature has been an asset to his success in the Body Buster Program. He displays dedication to his health and well being by attending all of his classes and always making them up when needed.

Described as "a trainer's dream," Ed brings his positive attitude to every class and simply works hard. Being the "partner you love to hate" is a compliment when it comes to Body Buster workouts!

When Ed works with other members, he not only challenges himself but will push his partner to a higher level. With his level of focus and commitment to the program it's no surprise that he has been awarded this special recognition.

Ed was also nominated the Bootcamper of the Program back in September 2013. This is an exceptional accomplishment because in the history of Body Buster Fitness, no member has ever been nominated twice, let alone for Bootcamper of the year!

Ed, you represent the "Best of the Best" when it comes to Body Buster. Congratulations on being the 2014 Bootcamper of the YEAR!

Body Buster Fitness September/October 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

Wendy
I think sometimes, as adults & especially parents, we get caught up in our work/children and forget about ourselves. Doing Body Buster is actually fun and the end result is better health and wellness.
I've been a Body Buster Fitness member since January 2012.
Initially, the appeal of Body Buster was the sheer variety of programming and exercises, the proximity to my home and the idea that by doing an early morning program, I could get exercising "out of the way" before the day even really began! As I continued on in the program, I began to appreciate the dedication and friendliness of the instructors as well as the great camaraderie among the participants. The variety continues to this day and I doubt we've ever repeated the same class.
I don't know how much weight or how many inches I've lost as that wasn't really the point of my joining. I wanted to be more fit, all over and I know I am! I actually have upper body strength where I had none before, and I find that I catch colds/flus much less frequently that I used to. Coincidence?!
I continue with Body Buster Fitness because I enjoy the classes (most of the time!); I really like my instructors, Huy and Dan and find them encouraging and positive; the other participants are great; and, finally, I "miss" it when I can't make a classes.
Although getting up for a 6 am class can be tough, overall I've found that in addition to feeling fitter, I'm very rarely sick. Even when I do catch a cold or flu, it doesn't generally last long or become intense.
I've regained some of my former fitness since joining Body Buster Fitness. This has ultimately led to better experiences outside of class: especially when it comes to endurance on active family vacations.
Body Buster is great for anybody. The opportunity is there to work at your own pace, with a gentle nudge once you are ready to increase in intensity and an overall feeling of fun during the classes.
My advice to anyone who claims there is no time to exercise is that there's always time. You owe it to yourself to make the time but you also owe to anyone who cares about you to be as healthy as you can be.

I think sometimes, as adults and especially parents, we get caught up in our work/children and forget about ourselves. Doing something like Body Buster Fitness is actually fun (in a strange way!) and the end result is better health and wellness. I have three kids, (11, 15 and 17) and I think it's good for them to see a parent who continues to be active and involved. They need to see that all the sports they do now do not have to stop once they are out of school and that physical activity should be as much a part of their lifestyle as eating and sleeping!

Body Buster Fitness - May 2014 Bootcamper of the Program

Noel
"Results will come if you put your mind to it."
We at Body Buster would like to send a big congratulations to Noel. Noel has seen very significant increases in both his muscular and cardiovascular endurance since beginning with the Body Buster program in January. He gives his all each and every classs and pushes past mental blocks and barriers when given tough exercises to complete. He definitely practices the "mind over matter" technique in the classes and has truly come a long way in all aspects of his health over the course of his Body Buster experience.

Noel is also a great classmate to have in the program. He is a positive and encouraging model for all the members in his class and has proven that with hard work and dedication to the program and his health, anything is possible. In fact, for the first time in Body Buster history - we had members writing in to nominate a fellow member for Bootcamper of the program! Not only do we at Body Buster think he is deserving of this honour, so do many of the members in his class.

Noel has made Body Buster a new part of his lifestyle and we are very proud of him and all he has accomplished in the program. Congrats Noel!

I have been a body buster since January 2014. What I like most about body buster is how motivated and focused I get during these workouts. I have lost about 4 pounds since Xmas. I am continuing with body buster as I am seeing a vast improvement in fitness levels. But I don't want to stop at that. I know I can reach a higher fitness level if I stay at it. In terms of overall health I personally think I am far more healthier than prior to joining body buster. Everything has changed. Eating loads of healthy food, drinking less alcohol, sleeping very well and I have lots of energy.

What I have gained since joining body buster is learning how to lead a more healthy lifestyle, developing strength and how to maintain this. My advice to people who never took the program is to try it out.
You will get fit and knock of unwanted pounds if you listen and follow instructors advice and that bit of commitment from yourself and patience.  You have to make an effort to see results. Results will come if you put your mind to it and the trainers are extremely helpful to help you achieve your targets.

Body Buster Bootcamp April 2014 Bootcampers of the Program!

Kim & Kathy
"I love the feeling I am doing something good for my overall health." & "I have gained such a sense of accomplishment from regularly attending and participating."
Kim:
I joined back in September 2012 for 3 months with another member and as of  April 2014, I just signed up for my 3rd year!
I love that I now have a fitness program in my weekly schedule.  Prior to joining Body Buster, the most activity I enjoyed were long hikes and bike rides. I look forward to each and every program and now have that I have this in my weekly structure, so when life is interrupted and I cannot make a program, I make certain I do my makeup class or I just do not feel the same.
I have lost about 15 pounds and although I would like to lose more, I have lost inches from my legs, bootieJ and overall down a size.
I love the feeling I am doing something good for my overall health. I am a mature women and it’s important to take care of myself. I feel great after each session and sleep so much better on the nights after my class.  The fact that each class is changed up. I can honestly say that not one class has been the same and never boring!
In terms of overall health, I feel younger, more youthful. I feel fit and I can see a difference, my family and friends also comment on seeing a difference. Exercising not only maintains your physical health but mental health as well. Also I can see amongst my personal friends that I have a better stamina and are able to do more physically prior to joining Body Buster.
I have gained respect from peers at work and in my personal life. I feel great that I am able to wear clothes that I feel great in! If I have had a stressful day at work, I can go to Body Buster and just release all that built up stress. I can forget about the day and feel like a new person heading home to the shower! I enjoy the feeling of good overall health that this program provides.  I am also gaining knowledge in nutrition, which is a subject I knew little about.
Body Buster becomes an important part of your daily routine, it’s only an hour and the program is flexible that it allows you to fit into your schedule. It does not take a lot of time, it’s only one hour for a class and you get to meet other people such as yourself that are looking to improve or even maintain your overall health. It’s really a lot of fun and we have some great laughs along the way.
Before you say you just don’t have time, look at the older family members in your life. My mom in her late 60’s fell and broke her ankle. She was unable to leave the hospital because she did not have the upper body strength to hold herself up on crutches. I look now and feel if I had an accident, I would at the very least be strong enough to keep my mobility.
I have a great time and look forward to every class. I love getting together with the friends I have made along the way and of course LOVE Kara and the other instructors. They make each class! I look forward to many more years with Body Buster.
Kathy:
I`ve been a member of Body Buster Fitness, with my friend Kim, since September 2011 - hard to believe, time flies when you`re having fun!!
What I love most about the Body Buster Program is the combination of motivating instructors with group dynamics – it’s like having a private instructor who knows how to help you get the most out of your workout combined with the support and comradery of a group.
I`ve lost 10 -15 pounds (depending on how close to the holidays or vacations my weigh ins are), I`m not really sure how many inches but I do know my pre-boot camp clothes are all too big.
The main reason I have stayed with Body Buster, and will continue to stay, is because it works for me.  This is the first fitness program I have ever stuck with - I`ve had many starts and stops at the gym over the years.  It`s the combination of the highly motivating instructors, the unique classes and the supportive classmates. I get more out of a one hour Body Buster class than I would in several one hour visits to the gym on my own, no two classes are ever the same, and the encouragement from fellow Bootcampers is fantastic!!
My overall health has improved tremendously since joining Body Buster– I not only weigh less, I have way more energy and strength, I sleep better and I definitely eat healthier.  I stop and think about what I`m eating relative to how hard I work in class to burn those calories off.
Not only is it good for the body, it`s good for the soul.  I have gained such a sense of accomplishment from regularly attending and participating.  No matter what my state of mind or enthusiasm level when I arrive at class, I always leave feeling positive.
The Body Buster Program is worth it in every way.  The time spent in class comes back tenfold with the increases in energy and strength you get from regular participation.  The results you get are equivalent to personal training without the high cost and with all the benefits of a being part of an encouraging group.
It’s important to make time for yourself and to feel good about yourself!!  A couple of hours a week is all it takes to get really noticeable results – it`s never too late to start.
Thank you Kara (and The Body Buster Team) and fellow Bootcampers for all your encouragement – you`re terrific!!

Body Buster Bootcamp March 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

Heather
Making a commitment to form a regular exercise routine is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for apx 1 year.
What I love about the Body Buster Fitness Program is I don't have to think.  I just need to show up and my instructor tells me what to do.
I have lost Apx 5 pounds, not sure in inches but have lost 1 dress size
I have made Body Buster part of my regular routine.  The group atmosphere and my instructor Lily is very motivational. It is great to be among people with the same focus and fitness goals.
The Body Buster Program has made me feel fitter, stronger and generally more healthy.  I have more energy throughout the day.
Although it is a struggle to get up at 5:30am to go to bootcamp it sets the stage for the rest of the day.  I find I am more focused and effective at work after a good class.  By making exercise part of my regular routine I have more energy throughout the day.  With a 3 and 6 year old at home every ounce of energy is important.
The great thing about the Body Buster program is that there is always someone there to challenge you.  The instructors are there to ensure you are engaged and challenged for the full hour.  This is very hard to do on your own at the gym.
We all lead hectic work and family lives.  Making a commitment to form a regular exercise routine is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.  Focusing on personal health and fitness affects so many areas of your life. Not only does it improve your overall health it improves your entire mental state which affects everyone around you.

Body Buster Fitness February 2014 Bootcamper of the Program!

Christina

"I feel energized, challenged and motivated when working out with others."
I have been a Body Buster member for five years.
I most enjoy the camaraderie.  I feel energized, challenged and motivated when working out with others.  The instructors are fantastic and each one puts his/her own spin on the workouts.
I never weigh myself or have had myself measured.  My commitment has always been about just keeping my mind and body healthy.
I feel that the activities you engage in and the daily choices you make affect the way you feel both physically and emotionally.  I choose to continue with Body Buster because it works for me and because of the health benefits associated with a healthy and active lifestyle.  It also helps that the classes are dynamic and fun.
I feel great and consistently energetic.  I have seen an improvement in my core strength and endurance primarily.  I’ve also gained motivation that lasts :)
I have gained a love of feeling physically fit.  The classes give you a great sense of accomplishment and pride.  I have also gained a better understanding of how specific exercises/workouts target particular muscle groups and areas of the body.
I would tell others that Body Buster takes overall health and exercise very seriously.  The workouts are well thought out and address all areas of the body.  The stretching component at the end of each class complements the workouts and effectively helps your body recover.  The instructors challenge you at every level and also encourage good health and nutrition.
Try working exercise into your daily routine.  Small bouts of activity make ‘movements’ a more normal part of your life.

There are many choices and options available today for people who are ready to be active.  Just try to have a little fun while doing it

Body Buster's 2013 BOOTCAMPER of the YEAR is....

BOOTCAMPER OF THE YEAR!

Body Buster Fitness Bootcamper of the YEAR 2013!

Jill

Congratulations Jill - Body Buster Fitnes Bootcamper of the YEAR 2013!

A big congrats goes out to Jill C. in the High Park 7:30pm class.
Jill is an amazing Body Buster Bootcamper and has come such a long way in her many years taking the program.

Jill's positive attitude is inspiring and a pleasure to have in the class.
She is dedicated, truly committed to her workouts and gives her all each and every class she does. Jill has made Body Buster a part of her life throughout many life changes - including working out Body Buster style before and after giving birth to her daughter Nov. 2012.

Jill's results have been incredible and are a reflection of how hard she has worked to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle in the Body Buster Fitness Program. Jill has  lost a total of 82 lbs - 30 lbs a few years ago when she first began with the program and then 52 lbs after her daughter was born (after gaining 40 lbs during her pregnancy).

Jill is the real deal. She comes to class to work on herself, to push past barriers and accomplish as much as she can while she's there. She continually revisits her nutrition as well to maintain a healthy and balanced life.

We are very proud of and happy for Jill. She has come a long way since beginning her journey with Body Buster and continues to meet and exceed fitness goals as time goes on.

Congratulations Jill - Body Buster Bootcamper of the Year 2013!!!

January 2014 Bootcamper of the Program

LETIZIA

I am a busy mom and life in general is very busy so it is nice to devote one hour a day for myself to do something good for my mind and body.

I have been a Body Buster Fitness member since September 9th 2013.
What I like best about the Body Buster program is that it is constantly challenging my fitness ability, and every class is always different which keeps it fun and interesting.  The instructors are very motivating and continue to push me when I need it most.
I have lost 5 pounds but I have gained a lot of muscle and lost lots of inches all over.
I have continued with Body Buster because I love the results i have seen with my body and I love how I feel.  It’s a great way to start my day and I feel completely energized after my workout and for the rest of the day.
In terms of overall health I feel much healthier. it is like a chain reaction, as soon as I started to do something for myself and started exercising again I started to eat clean again and the combination of the two has made me feel amazing. I have a lot more energy throughout the day which is great when I am taking care of my one year old, I am not as tired as I used to be anymore.
I have gained from being a member of Body Buster Fitness is that i all around feel better about myself and I am much happier. i am a busy mom and life in general is very busy so it is nice to devote one hour a day for myself to do something good for my mind and body.  i love having a lot more energy to tackle the day, as well my stamina and cardio has dramatically improved which I love.
I think Body Buster Fitness is a great program. All the instructors are fantastic and everyone is really nice. I am so glad I decided to join and I think they are going to be stuck with me now.

Fitness Bootcamp BOOTCAMPER OF THE PROGRAM

BOOTCAMPER OF THE PROGRAM

Amanda

"I feel that I have gained strength and endurance that I have not had in many years."
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for about a year and a half.  I joined in July 2012 to try something new, get fit and get outdoors.
The thing I like most about the Body Buster Program is the variety of exercises.  You know you are likely to do squats at some point but the rest changes all the time.  It keeps the workout interesting.
In the past year, I have lost 8 lbs.  The weight took a long time and wasn’t really the part I noticed. I have gone down one, almost two, clothing sizes.  I saw this result faster and it is the one that people around me have noticed and for which they congratulate me.
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because it is the only thing that I actually keep coming back to.  It may sound kind of funny but I am always well intentioned in my fitness.  With other types of activities, I would always sign up and intend on attending.  But, I could always convince myself to go ‘tomorrow’.  With Body Buster, the instructors have encouraged me to set personal goals and work toward those goals each time I come.  I know that the people I have met at Body Buster will notice if I miss and I look forward to seeing them too.
Since beginning at Body Buster, I have noticed my overall health improve.  I see it in small things like being able to run back to my house for something I have forgotten and not feeling out of breath.  I feel stronger, both physically and mentally.
I feel that I have gained strength and endurance that I have not had in many years.  I have gained new friends who have similar fitness goals as I do.  And, I have gained something that I do each week just for me.
I would tell people who have not taken Body Buster before they need to come and try it.  Everyone needs physical activity and many of us need someone to help us to figure out what activity works best for us.  I would tell people not to be scared off by the assumption that this is a ‘boot camp’ program.  The instructors help you to determine the level that is right for you and will give you challenges or modifications depending on your ability and goals.  Finally, I would say to come and try out Body Buster Fitness because you become part of a group that supports each other.
My advice to everyone who is busy is that the predictability of the Body Buster Program allows you to fit it in to your schedule.  For me, it forces me to NOT schedule meetings or work or other events during that time – my time.  But, if you must attend an event, there is flexibility in the contracts to change the date of a class or two.  With all of this support, there are no excuses NOT to exercise.
One of the best things about Body Buster for me is the accountability.  If I miss a class, I know some one will notice.  This helps to motivate me.  When I feel like I am too tiered to go for my workout, I think about the other people in the group, the instructors, and my goals and it motivates me to go.  Once I get there, I am always glad that I came and kept working towards my fitness goals.  And, the reward at the end of a 7:30pm class is getting to go home, shower, eat something and go to bed!

Etobicoke Bootcamp Toronto Boot Camps Fitness Groups

BOOTCAMPER OF THE PROGRAM

Edward

"I feel that I have gained, strength, improved my cardio and stamina, and patience by participating in the Body Buster Fitness program."
I've been a Body Buster Fitness member since March 2013.
What I like most about the Body Buster Fitness program is that every class
is different. By changing the exercises from class to class it keeps my body
continuously challenged as it doesn't have a chance to adapt to a repetitive
routine. For this I have total respect for the instructors as it must be
very challenging for them to come up with something new every time.
Since I have started the Body Buster Fitness program I have lost 9 lbs. Not
sure about how many inches but I'm sure it's a couple.
There are a few reasons why I have chosen to continue with the Body Buster
Fitness program. The first reason would have to be the instructors. They are
very motivating and encourage you to perform every exercise to the best of
your ability in order to maximize the effectiveness of the exercise. Second,
the program is very accommodating and flexible for me. I know that I can
reschedule or make up a class at my convenience as there are a handful of
locations and times in the Etobicoke/Toronto area that I can choose from.
Third and most important reason as to why I'm continuing with this program
is that I believe that I have found a program that works for me!
In terms of overall health, I do feel that my health has greatly improved. I
feel stronger, find myself more active throughout the day and sleep better
at night.
I feel that I have gained, strength, improved my cardio and stamina, and
patience by participating in the Body Buster Fitness program.
When it comes
to fitness and seeing results nothing comes over night. It took me some
time, and others, to notice the results of all those intense workouts. I can
finally see some muscle definition in my chest, arms, and legs and I don't
get as winded running the 1K as I did when I started the program.
For anyone that hasn't taken a Body Buster Fitness program before I would
highly recommend it because it's quite the experience. It's a great group
environment where everyone is very supportive of one another, having fun,
and getting fit together.

Congratulations Patty

Patty - Langley/Surrey

"I feel like I have gained years of youth as I get stronger every class."
Patty's positive attitude and energy in class has inspired her instructor to nominate her for Bootcamper of the Program. Her commitment and dedication to the Body Buster Program has contributed to her 8lb weight loss! She registered early for the next program and we are excited to be a part of her fitness journey.
What Patty has to say:
I like that the trainer pushes me but  within my limits. I like that the Body Buster workout is a total body workout and most of all I like the results I've already seen on my body.
I feel more energy. I can sleep much better and am a happier mom to my family as the stress from my job is erased every time I come home from a Body Buster Fitness class.
I feel I have gained more mobility and self awareness of what my body is capable of.  I am more conscious of my mental health and deal with stress much better. I can focus on my work better just as I have learned to focus on my workouts. I feel like I have gained years of youth as I get stronger every class.
Don't be scared to try. This course is for all fitness levels and ages and customizes to each person. You will be a better you.

Fitness Bootcamp in Etobicoke, High Park & Vaughan

Etobicoke Toronto Mississauga Vaughan Fitness Bootcamps

Sylvia

I like how I feel about myself after I complete my classes. I feel strong and fit.
I joined my first Body Buster Program in September of 2011 when my friends decided to do it.  They offered to drive me there and by some sort of accident I said yes.....I was nervous.  I am not one who ever did exercise on purpose. I skied competitively growing up and after my babies I did stroller fitness...and that's it.  So Boot Camp sounded pretty intimidating.  At that time I thought I might do one or two programs MAX.  What happened? It's coming up to two years and I haven't missed a program during that time. Even I am surprised....and...proud.  This has a lot to do with the trainers I have had, the people I have met and, in the end, how I feel about myself and my body as a result.

I like how I feel about myself after I complete my classes.  I feel strong and fit.  I also like the people I see every Tuesday and Thursday - they are a great group of people who are positive and encouraging so I enjoy being with them.  We all laugh but we all also work hard. Both Huy and Lilly are great motivators - their style works for me...a touch of tough love and a lot of positive reinforcement! I'm glad I can be myself and when I'm having a tough morning I am recognized for being there and doing what I can...not called out for doing what I can't.

It's never been about weight loss and inches for me thought I will say I have lost weight and my clothes just fit better overall.  I think I've lost 4-5 lbs  - when I started it was about stamina and strength for me - I am busy as we all are and I just wanted to make sure I was keeping up with all the demands of a given week as a full time working mom.

This is a bit of a mystery.  I will say it's an explicit decision I make to re-commit every three months.  I guess what motivates me to do that is the fact that I have seen results and I know I would not continue to do this for myself on my own.  It's just too lonely that way.  This is something I can fit into my week (though getting up at 5:30 is deadly!) and I feel strong overall as a result.  I also have two kids who are both very athletic and they work hard - their dedication to their respective sports and their willingness to sweat and work hard inspires me to do the same. Finally, my friend Michelle, who started me on this journey, keeps an eye on me - I wouldn't want to let her down! My family is proud of me.  My friends support me and most important I am proud of me

Funny - my husband asked me just the other day whether I feel healthier as a result of the Body Buster Fitness work I'm doing - and I do! I don't get sick with this and that and my little aches and pains are no longer. When I'm sore these days it's because I've earned that muscle soreness due to hard work - it's a feeling I'm proud of. The other added benefit is that by attending the classes I am impacted in my food choices. Who wants to ruin all that hard work by eating poorly? And...my body doesn't even want the junk as much as it used to!

Let's see...what have I gained....

I've gained confidence and a sense of pride. I joke with my classmates that I am always amazed when I make it to stretch and I've survived another class.  It's never a given!
I can run my km without stopping!
I understand just how hard it is to do what my kids do in their workouts and it gives me a sense of appreciation for them
Strength and definition in my muscles - happy with that

The hardest part is starting - once you're there you will find people are supportive and friendly.  It's not nearly as intimidating as I thought it would be.  AND...you actually do get better. When I started I could not run that km and I was sure I had no ab muscles...as it turns out - I can and I do! We all have different goals and the workouts can be tailored to each of us.  It's something you can do for you and it's better than what you were doing before which for me was....um...nothing.

I've said what I can think of - overall for me it was not about being unhappy with my body image or even with my life balance overall.  It was just about getting stronger and being an even better version of myself. A big thanks goes out to Lilly who always leaves me with a positive thought, a smile and pat on the back.  It's often her voice that helps get me out of bed 'you are strong' she says...and I believe her.
